Irvine Economic Development
Irvine is home to more than 200,000 jobs and more than 21,000 businesses have a license here. It is vital that the City maintain a link between and among our business community for our mutual benefit. For example, it is critically important that we understand the needs of local businesses so that we can, when possible, address their individual and collective needs. It is equally important that we make businesses and their employees aware of the many services that Irvine provides.

With the purpose to optimally position City staff to create a more proactive, consistent and holistic role in the areas of business attraction and retention, City Manager Sean Joyce in February 2012 formed a team from several City Departments to build a foundation upon which our economic development efforts will be forged and will evolve in the years ahead.
