Twitter, a social networking service, is used as a communication tool designed to keep residents connected to vital City services, information, events and programs.  Users who sign up to receive the City's Twitter posts will get short messages called "tweets" sent to their Twitter page or mobile phones.  Each "tweet" is up to 140 characters per message and provides a quick headline and web link to more detailed information.
