Twilight at the Net

Twilight at the Net occured on Tuesday September 16, 2008 at Bill Barber Park. This free event for adult tennis players showcased the City of Irvine Tennis Adult Program. The event featured Irvine Tennis Professionals Ruben Millado, John Staph, Jeff Sparks and new Professionals Tae Byon and Dianne Matias. Each professional taught a variety of clinics, including the heart pumping Cardio Tennis clinic. The local WTT and USTA leagues were also featured as players from each league came out to show the benefits of playing in a tennis league. Court #1 filled up as Special Guest Speaker Michael Chang stepped onto the court, tennis racquet in hand. Chang discussed his experiences on the ATP tour along with his various match strategies. He even delighted a couple fans by having them come onto center court where Chang showed them different stroke techniques. Overall, this was a special night where adult tennis players from all over Irvine and Orange County came out to celebrate the great sport of Tennis. Thank you to everyone that volunteered, worked and participated in Twilight at the Net!
