Northwood Community Center Modernization

Modernization and expansion of exiting community center to approximately 9,500 sq. ft.  Goal: LEED certification.

Northwood Monument Sign and Memorial

Design and construction of new monument sign with memorial plaque, lighted flagpole, seat walls and five pedestals inscribed with the names of fallen military personnel.

Fall 2010

Oak Creek Turf Area

New turf area to provide overflow and warm-up space for players at adjacent athletic fields.

Construction grading permit and landscape permits were issued.  Bid package complete.

Construction of a new 6,063 sq. ft. community center building with multi-purpose room, kitchen, exercise room, offices, storage and patio area.  Rehabilitation of existing 3,823 sq. ft. community center building; site work, landscaping and irrigation.  Goal: LEED certification.

Adventure Playground

Inspect facility structures and play zones.  Remove weeds and items in disrepair.  Install clean fill in mud pit, rehabilitate water slide and drainage systems.  

Work to be scheduled from fall 2010 to spring 2011.

Adventure Playground facility closed until Summer 2011.

Animal Care Center

Remove existing concrete walkway and trellis, and construct new concrete walkway, new roof structure and covered walkway.

Construction substantially complete.  Final inspections in progress.

Bommer Canyon Trailhead

Provides public access to City’s open space area for hiking and biking purposes.  Consists of 744 sq. ft. restroom building and 14 parking spaces.

Plan check and revisions in progress. SCE has completed its review.

Irvine Train Station

Renovate and repair the interior space and portions of the exterior for the Irvine Station’s Public Men’s and Women’s Restrooms; and renovate and repair the exterior plaza’s hardscape and landscape.

Construction in progress.

Existing men and women restrooms are closed, fenced off and under-construction.  Temporary ADA-compliant restrooms installed and open for public use.

William Woollett Jr Aquatics Center
