Much Ado About Pasadena

Bagels, Baseball and Bottlecaps

Wednesday, March 4

Enjoy an All-American day out with friends on this fun new tour! The day begins with a stop at the Brooklyn Bagel Bakery for fresh baked bagels. Each person will receive bagels, cream cheese & juice. After visiting the bakery, you’re off to Dodger Stadium. You’ll embark on a 90 minute behind-the-scenes tour that lets fans visit some of the most restricted and non-public areas. After touring the stadium, you’ll travel to Old Pasadena where you’ll have time for lunch on your own. Choices abound at this popular outdoor shopping and dining venue – everything from al Fresco cafes to popular restaurants, fast food and fine dining. The final fun stop of the day is at Galco’s Soda Pop Stop. People come from around the globe to visit the store that offers more than 400 different kinds soda pop. You may have seen the store featured on PBS’ “Visiting with Huell Howser” and the Food Channel’s “unwrapped” series, or in Sunset Magazine.

Castle & Cream

Wednesday, March 18

On this tribute to Huell Hoswer we’ll see clips of “California Gold” while traveling to Rubel Castle. In 1959 Michael Rubel started building a house out of cement and champagne bottles and in 1986 completed the first major recycling project in the U.S. Included is a BBQ-style lunch at a favorite restaurant in the quaint Glendora Village. Following will be a nostalgic treat as we visit Fosselman’s Ice Cream, in business for over 95 years.
