The Task Force to Review Housing Needs of Developmentally Disabled seeks to develop draft housing policies to support the creation of housing for the developmentally disabled in the City of Irvine.

The Task Force to Review Housing Needs of Developmentally Disabled will provide recommendations to the City Council on housing policies based on the needs of the developmentally disabled with regard to: (1) research zoning and development standards that could permit and encourage various housing products that may serve the spectrum of residents with developmental disabilities; (2) identify potential opportunities in the City that might accommodate housing or the developmentally disabled; (3) explore funding opportunities for housing and long-term services serving residents with developmental disabilities; and (4) review of existing housing policies to identify if any revisions should be considered to encourage private sector development and operation of housing for the developmentally disabiled.
Meetings will be scheduled as needed by the Task Force.
Meeting locations will be in the City of Irvine at various community facilities.

Two (2) City Councilmembers appointed by the City Council, one (1) Planning Commissioner appointed by the Planning Commission, one (1) member appointed by the Irvine Community Land Trust, one (1) member appointed by the Irvine Residents with Disabilities Advisory Board, one (1) member appointed by the Regional Center of Orange County, two (2) members from the developmentally disabled community, and one (1) representative from the local community.
