Welcome OCFA Division Chief Mike Moore


On Wednesday, March 16, 2011, Division Chief Mike Moore was introduced at the Irvine Police Department’s Command Staff meeting.


Chief Moore has been a member of the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) for 29 years. He has served most recently as Division Chief, Division 4, (Placentia, Tustin, Villa Park, and Yorba Linda). Prior to this assignment he was a field Battalion Chief in Division 5. Chief Moore’s new assignment will plan, direct, and coordinate fire, rescue, and emergency medical operations for the City of Irvine. 

Additionally, Chief Moore has worked his way through the ranks here at OCFA serving as:


·          Battalion Chief

·          Fire Training Officer Chief

·          Executive Management Administrative Fire Captain

·          Fire Captain

·          Task Force Leader on OCFA’s Urban Search & Rescue Team (CATF5)

·          Assistant Fire Training Officer

·          Engineer

·          Paramedic

·     Fire Fighter


Chief Moore is a graduate of California State University Long Beach (Masters Degree in Public Administration); Redlands University (Bachelors in Management); Long Beach City College (Associates Degree in Fire Science); Santa Ana State College (Associates Degree in Paramedical Sciences); Chief Moore is a California State Certified Instructor and Fire Officer. Mike recently graduated from the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, Maryland completing the four-year Executive Fire Officer Program.
