Team Irvine Participates in "Race for the Cure"
On Sunday, September 25th, Team Irvine participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. This was a banner year for Team Irvine as 60 participants walked and ran the 5K course in Newport Beach. This year’s team was the largest group so far and collected over $1,700 toward finding a cure for breast cancer.
Special thanks are in order for Animal Services Supervisor Cherney for her role in organizing members of the Department as Team Captain. Team Irvine is committed to continued support of this event in remembrance of Retired Irvine Police Officer Jane Golden.
The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
