Detective Hudson Named Employee of the Quarter
On Tuesday, February 7, 2012, Detective Hudson was honored as the Irvine Police Department Employee of the Quarter by the Exchange Club of Irvine during a luncheon held at the Irvine Marriott hotel.
Detective Hudson was presented with the award for his handling of several cases over the past quarter including one case involving 14 teenage victims. Detective Hudson took great care with each victim, coordinating with school officials, School Resource Officers, the District Attorney’s Office and Victim Services to ensure a successful outcome. He also led an investigation involving a fast food manager who stole money over a period of time from a mentally disabled woman who regularly purchased her lunch at the restaurant where he worked. This case not only won Detective Hudson the appreciation of the victim and her family but also of the community as they learned of his diligent pursuit of an arrest and prosecution of the suspect in media reports.
Detective Hudson has been with the Irvine Police Department since 2006 and has served in patrol, as a Field Training Officer and as a member of the Department’s Honor Guard. His current assignment as a Detective in the Crossroads area in investigations began only last year.
Attending the luncheon were Detective Hudson’s wife, Deputy Chief Noble, Commander Aninag, Lieutenant Davis, Sergeant Scherer, Detectives Smith, Sampson, and A. Kim, School Resource Officer Frei and Victim Advocate Russell.
