Honor Guard and Explorers Represent the Irvine Police Department at State Memorial

On May 6, 2013, The Irvine Police Department participated in the 37th Annual California Peace Officer’s Memorial Ceremony in Sacramento.  The ceremony is the State’s formal tribute to fallen officers.  Each year, names are added to the memorial of those who made the “Ultimate Sacrifice” in the line of duty during the previous year as well as some from years past whose stories have only just been discovered.  The Department’s Honor Guard and Police Explorers were in attendance, to pay tribute and represent the Irvine Police Department. Chief Maggard and Lieutenant Hallinan were also in attendance. The annual event is an opportunity for law enforcement agencies across the state to gather in support of the families of the fallen as well as each other.
