Meals on Wheels

City of Irvine Senior Services is urgently seeking volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious meals to frail and homebound senior citizens in the Irvine community. Volunteers work directly with the Irvine Meals on Wheels program and provide a vital service to older adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday. Drivers are asked to commit one to four hours per month between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Website.

Animal Care Center

Animal shelter volunteers provide animals love, attention, and training. They perform tasks that assist City staff, customers, and most importantly shelter pets. This program is for adults (18 years or older) and requires completion of a volunteer orientation and a minimum time commitment of 8 hours per month for the first six months. Other volunteer opportunities include animal socialization, pet foster care, fundraising, and assisting with special events.

The Great Park Farm + Food Lab

The City of Irvine's Urban Agriculture division is seeking volunteers for its Farm + Food Lab educational venue at the Great Park. Volunteers will assist with educational programs including the Children's Garden Workshops, Story Time in the Garden and cooking demonstrations. Residents with a passion for ecology are invited to volunteer at the Turtle Rock Nature Center in the following capacities:  Nature Center: Trail maintenance, non-native plant removal, administrative assistance. Programs and Events: Assist with registration and hikes.

HSYAT offers numerous teen volunteer opportunities in leadership roles, community service and social-recreational activities for teens throughout the school year. HSYAT has volunteered with organizations such as Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, Families Forward, Orangewood Children’s Home, Shade Tree Partnership, and many more.

Put your creative ideas and talents to work in new ways. The Irvine Fine Arts Center welcomes volunteers (18 years of age or older) in the Photography Darkroom, Ceramics, and Jewelry Studios. All potential volunteers must have previous experience and knowledge of applicable studio equipment.

Irvine Global Village Festival

Volunteers are needed to assist in all areas of the Festival, from guest services representatives and stage managers to shuttle stop attendants and clean-up crews. Shifts are in 4-hour increments on the day of the event, 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Set up and Take down shifts are scheduled between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on the day before and after the event. Volunteers are welcome to work more as many shifts as desired.

Experience how good it feels to help others. Help support the Marines and Sailors of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Battalion from Camp Pendleton. Volunteers prepare care packages, support fund-raising events, write letters to military personnel, and support the Pre-deployment Family Day events to benefit active-duty personnel and their families.
