L.A. Murder, Mystery & Scandal

Wednesday, April 22

Highlights: Professional and charismatic step-on guide who is a history buff with an expertise on the evolution of L.A. Explore almost 100 years of murder, mystery and scandal. Visit fascinating neighborhoods and learn about the grim memories they hold, including Hollywood, Olvera Street, Chinatown, Beverly Hills and Lincoln Heights. See the Biltmore Hotel, Bradbury Building, City Hall, Angel’s Flight, Paramount Studios, Roosevelt Hotel and the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Also featured will be sites that figured into L.A. Noir, the genre of films and books that were spawned by these infamous events.

Knott’s Berry Farm- The Early Years

Thursday, May 7

Highlights: Step back in time to the early days of Knott’s Berry Farm. On this special “Pathways to the Past” tour, you’ll recall the old West and the Knott family heritage with a walk through Ghost Town including a visit to the blacksmith shop, the school house and the restored train cars. Witness a storytelling performance at Mystery Lodge. Lunch at Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.

Dead Sea Scrolls

Wednesday, August 19

Highlights: Come discover the most significant archaeological find of the last century -The Dead Sea Scrolls at the California Science Center. Enjoy lunch at the Taix restaurant. After lunch, travel to the California Science Center where you will be marveled by the IMAX movie – Jerusalem 3D. See the largest Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition ever mounted outside of Israel, featuring over 600 ancient artifacts on display. Explore the science and significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls, manuscripts written and hidden in caves 2000 years ago and not discovered until 1947. Also, featured are 10 selections of the Dead Sea Scrolls, more than half never seen before in the U.S.
