IRVINE, CA (September 30, 2013): UPDATED 10/2/2013 At approximately 4:30 p.m., Irvine Police Department Officers and Orange County Fire Authority Paramedics responded to a report of an automobile vs. pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of Campus Drive and Paseo Montoya. The pedestrian, a 78 year old resident of Irvine, was taken to UCI Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
The cause and details surrounding the collision are currently under investigation. Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian was crossing Campus Dr. near Paseo Montoya when he was struck.

UPDATE (10/2/2013): The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Division has released the name of the deceased in this traffic collision. The deceased subject is Irvine resident, Jorge Altisent with a D.O.B. of November 25, 1934.
