IRVINE, CA (October 18, 2013): On October 18, 2013, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Irvine police officers and Orange County Fire Authority Personnel responded to the parking lot of the University Town Center, near the intersection of Cornell and Harvard, after receiving a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision.
A preliminary investigation determined a 44 year-old woman from Irvine who was driving a 2010 Toyota Highlander collided with a woman who was walking on a private roadway within the University Town Center. The woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information concerning this collision should contact Detective Jonathan Cherney at (949) 724-7024.
