Agustina Arias Sworn in as Irvine’s Newest Police Officer


On Monday, March 25, 2013, Chief Maggard swore in Officer Agustina Arias to the Irvine Police Department. The ceremony took place in the Emergency Operations Center and was attended by friends, family and members of the Irvine Police Department.


Officer Arias joins Irvine after graduating with the 145th class of the Golden West Police Academy last Friday.  She has previous experience as an Intern with the Bell Gardens Police Department and has a long history of volunteer work while she attended college including several long-term assignments in the medical field. 


Officer Arias received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development in 2011 from California State University, Los Angeles where she graduated with honors.  Her prior employment includes work in Language Assessment and Special Education for the Bassett Unified School District.
