Inspired by crisis, Perin Mahler’s large-scale, epic narrative paintings reflect a recent and profound period of self-interrogation on behalf of the artist in light of social and environmental justice-related events. Informed by philosophic, sociological, and art historical developments, and concepts, Mahler’s works in Mirror represent a significant pivot in the artist’s oeuvre.

Perin Mahler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Queens College, CUNY in New York City. He has Chaired the Master of Fine Arts program in painting and drawing at Laguna College of Art and Design.
