The City of Irvine invites the community to learn about wildfire prevention on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Quail Hill Trailhead.
This free, family-friendly event will begin with a hike around the Quail Hill Loop Trail led by Mayor Christina Shea at 9 a.m. The event includes demonstrations and opportunities to see wildland management resources including:
- Goats, which are being used to maintain our open space and prevent wildfires
- OCFA wildland response equipment
- OCFA hand crew demonstration
- OCFA Fire Station 47 open house
Residents will also have an opportunity to meet members of the Irvine Police Department’s Mounted Unit and the City’s Community Emergency Response Team.
