City of Irvine Senior Services is seeking Meals on Wheels volunteers to prepare and deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors in our community. Volunteers assist older adults in maintaining their independence by providing healthy, delicious meals to those who might otherwise be unable to prepare food for themselves. Current volunteer openings include meal delivery drivers and kitchen assistants.
Irvine Meals on Wheels delivery drivers are needed weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., once a month for a minimum of three months. Drivers are required to show proof of a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance, pass a criminal background check and register as a volunteer with Irvine Senior Services.
Irvine Meals on Wheels kitchen assistants prepare and package food weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon, once a week for a minimum of six months. Volunteers must provide proof of a recent negative tuberculosis (TB) test, attend an interview and register as a volunteer with Irvine Senior Services.
