New deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 15
The filing period for non-incumbents for the office of Councilmember in the City of Irvine has been extended, the City Clerk announced today. Interested residents must file nomination papers for the General Municipal Election by the new deadline, Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
The filing period was extended beyond the initial Aug. 10, 2018, deadline because one or more incumbents failed to file nomination papers. The filing period for incumbents is now closed.
Any Irvine resident age 18 or older who is registered to vote, eligible to take the oath of office, and unless otherwise specifically provided, qualified to vote for the office, can file nomination papers. To file, visit the City Clerk’s Office, located on the 3rd floor of the Irvine Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza. For more information, contact the City Clerk’s Office at 949-724-6205.
The General Municipal Election is Nov. 6. For information on the election and to register to vote, visit ocvote.com, or call the City of Irvine Election Hotline at 949-724-6159.
