The City of Irvine has been voted “Best City to Live in” for the third consecutive year by Orange County Register readers.
Irvine’s commitment to safety, its unparalleled parks and open space, and quality of education helped it maintain its status as the best place to live in Orange County. Register readers select the best categories, so this is particularly important in that so many community members took the time to choose Irvine as No. 1.
“The Register confirms what we already know here in Irvine. This is the best place to live in Orange County! Our public safety, our schools, our parks and trails, our exciting and diverse dining, shopping, and sports facilities all provide an unmatched quality of life. My thanks to the Register for recognizing that quality; my thanks to the people of Irvine and my colleagues for all of us together creating that quality,” Mayor Donald Wagner said after he accepted the honor Thursday night at the Orange County Register’s awards gala.
Irvine will be featured Sunday in the Register’s 25th annual Best of Orange County publication, an insider’s guide to residents’ favorite places and experiences. The Register collected more than 120,000 votes in nearly 100 categories this year. Topics included the wide-reaching, such as the hottest places to eat and shop, to the very specific – the best organic food selection.
Other cities on the list included Huntington Beach and Anaheim.
