City Seeking Public Input on Heritage Community Park Improvements

Provide input and ask questions at free “pop up” event on Saturday, March 2, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

The City of Irvine is developing a master plan for Heritage Community Park, and invites the community to share input at a free “pop up” community event on Saturday, March 2. Community members can stop by the park any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to provide input during this free-form event.

The Heritage Community Park Improvements Master Plan will focus on enhancing the services and facilities provided within the approximately 44-acre community park. Heritage Community Park offers a variety of activities and supports a range of recreational needs through on-site facilities, which include the Heritage Community Center, Irvine Fine Arts Center, and Child Resource Center; numerous sports fields; and play and picnic areas.

The “pop up” community event on March 2 seeks to gather community input on future improvements within Heritage Community Park. Community members are invited to drop in between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; interactive display boards will be set up at the park entrance (between the Heritage Park Public Library and the Youth Programs office) to collect feedback regarding experiences, attitudes, behaviors, and preferences at Heritage Community Park. Information gathered will be used to shape recommendations and prioritize decisions about the park. For those unable to attend the event, a public survey will be posted online. Learn more at cityofirvine.org/heritageparkplan.

Heritage Community Park is located at 14301 Yale Ave., in Irvine. The drop-in event and parking are free. For more information, contact City of Irvine Senior Planner Kathleen Haton at 949-724-6667 or khaton@cityofirvine.org.
