Use this online system to report vandalism that resulted in less than $950 in damage. If the damage amount exceeds $950, please call the Irvine Police Department at 949-724-7000. In your report, please describe in depth the damage to your property. What tool do you believe was used to commit the damage? Please upload any photos or video you have that document that damage.
Mail theft occurs when a suspect takes your mail from your home’s mailbox or a community mailbox. If a package was taken from your doorstep please see “package theft” below. When a mail theft takes place, please also contact the United States Postal Service. If you believe your banking or credit card information has been compromised, please call the Irvine Police Department at 949-724-7000 to file an identity theft report.
Vehicle Tampering is tampering with or damaging a motor vehicle. Examples include a car being “keyed,” broken windows, or attempts to remove parts.
File a lost property report when your property is missing or lost. Examples include property discovered missing from a home or leaving items in a restaurant.
This category is for documentation of incidents which are not classified as crimes, however, an involved party desires that a record of the incident be created and kept on file for a limited time by the police department. Reports filed under this category will only be maintained for 2 years and will NOT be forwarded to, or reviewed by, a detective. No further action will be taken.
Custody/Visitation Court Order Violation
This form is to document that child(ren) were not exchanged at the stated time per court order. It can be used for minimal violations of the court order. Do Not Use for Missing Child, Child Abduction, or Restraining Order Violation cases. You MUST live within Irvine city limits or the violation MUST have occurred within the Irvine city limits to file this report. This form is provided to document your statement should you desire to take action. Please provide as much detail of the incident as possible and please list the child(ren) that are involved in the incident.
Petty Theft
Petty theft includes but is not limited to the following categories. A loss that is less than $950 is considered petty theft.
When reporting package theft, please list all items contained in the package. Please take the time to locate as many serial numbers as possible. This is the best way to potentially locate your stolen property. In the narrative of the report, please list the shipping information and the time you believe the package was delivered. Please provide a timeline for when you believe the package was stolen. If you have video cameras that may have captured the crime, please download the footage as soon as possible. Files can be lost or deleted depending on your service provider. This online system allows for still images and video to be uploaded. Please upload any photos such as screenshots of the suspect or scanned documents from the shipper or seller.
Please provide a full description of the bike stolen, including make, model, color, size and any other identifying information. Please provide the serial number of the bike. If you do not have it, you may be able to obtain it from the seller. The likelihood of locating your bike greatly increases if a serial number is provided. If your bike is registered, please list the serial or sticker number assigned to your bike at the time it was registered.
If a crime is taking place now, please call 911. A theft from a vehicle occurs when a suspect takes property from inside your vehicle. The loss must not exceed $950. If the loss is more than $950, please call the Irvine Police Department at 949-724-7000. When documenting the loss for this online report, please list each item separately. Include serial numbers and identification numbers if possible. This gives investigators the best chance of locating your property. Please provide as much detail of the incident as possible. If you believe the suspect may have left evidence behind, please call IPD to have an officer respond.
Hit and Run – No Injuries
This online reporting form is for use in situations where no suspect information is present. Suspect information includes a license plate or description of the driver. If you have suspect information and the incident occurred less than 10 minutes ago please contact 911, otherwise contact 949-724-7000.
A non-injury accident where one party left the scene of the accident without providing required license, insurance and/or vehicle information. This includes damage caused to your vehicle in which the driver should have left information or fled the scene without stopping to exchange information.
An accident where a vehicle left the scene of the accident without providing required license, insurance and/or vehicle information. This includes damage caused by another vehicle to your property (such as fence or mailbox) in which the driver should have left information or fled the scene without stopping to provide information.
