The City of Irvine will host a second Virtual Community Budget Meeting on March 25 for the upcoming fiscal year 2021-23 Biennial Budget cycle. The meeting will include virtual presentations and dialogue to answer budget questions and discuss community insights. The workshop will be held Thursday, March 25 at 9 a.m. via Zoom and Facebook Live. A previous budget workshop was held March 11.
Per the Irvine Municipal Code and Financial Policies, the City Manager must present a balanced budget to the City Council before July 1. The City has a two-year budget, which is developed in the context of a comprehensive five-year financial plan. The budget is both a policy document, setting strategic priorities and goals, and a financial document that dedicates resources to various programs and services based on the established priorities.
The public is invited to attend the meeting, and submit questions or comments regarding the budget to City staff at budget@cityofirvine.org. Further details about the virtual meetings are below.
