The City of Irvine Youth Action Team invites the community to take part in the Pickup 50 Challenge, a Citywide littering campaign beginning April 7 to promote and expand cleanup efforts throughout Irvine. Participants are asked to go out into their community, pick up 50 pieces of trash, and then challenge their friends and family to do the same. Encourage members of your school clubs, youth groups, sports teams, or favorite local businesses to take part!
Clean-up kits are available at local community centers for all those involved, and additional prizes and giveaways may be won through social media. Learn more below.
How to Get Involved
- Pick up your free challenge clean-up kit — which includes trash bags, gloves, and a mask — from various community centers (see a participating list below).
- When you arrive and park at the center, call center staff at the below-provided phone numbers. Staff will bring your clean-up kit to the car.
- Participants must follow all current COVID-19 health and safety protocols for the duration of the pick-up, and adhere to all social distancing markers and signage on-site.
Share the Fun
- Post pictures and videos of yourself, family, and friends taking part in the Pickup 50 Challenge to social media with the hashtag #irvinepickup50.
- Every post you share increases your chance to receive prizes for helping clean up Irvine.
- Challenge your friends, and have them challenge theirs, to keep the goodwill going!
