2d Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division
About the 2/11
2d Battalion, 11th Marines (2/11) is a field artillery battalion comprised of: Headquarters Battery, Battery E 2/11 (Echo Battery), Battery F 2/11 (Fox Battery), Battery G 2/11 (Golf Battery), Battery H 2/11 (Hotel Battery), and Battery I 3/12 (India Battery). Their primary mission is to provide direct support fires to 1st Marine Division, source validated Global Force Management requirements, and maintain battalion-level worldwide deployability. The command has roughly 860 Marines and Sailors assigned to it. The Battalion focuses its training and preparation on ensuring it is always ready when the nation calls and is a team of SAVAGE PROFESSIONALS who will uphold their oath to the American people when called upon to defend freedom.

2006–Present
Following deployment to Iraq in 2005, 2/11 elements continued to support Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) through 2006. Batteries from the battalion deployed in both traditional artillery and provisional military police capacities in support of the Global War on Terror. 2006–2007
Battalion deployed to Iraq a provisional Civil Affairs Group with the primary focus being the rebuilding of Iraq while fostering relationships with the local communities. 2008
Post Iraq, 2/11 reconstituted and resumed its role as a traditional cannon artillery battalion. 2009
The battalion deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, providing artillery support to Marines and coalition forces. 2012
2/11 has continued to support both Global War on Terror and Global Force Management deployments at the firing battery and Battalion Fire Support Team levels. Units have deployed to the Central Command and Indo-Pacific theaters a part of Marine Expeditionary Units and Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force formations. As the Marine Corps continues to transition with both weapon systems and formations, 2/11 remains ready to support ground and naval formations with surface fires from their primary weapons system. 2014–Present
As part of Force Design 2030 initiatives, 2d Battalion expanded in personnel with the addition of Battery H and Battery I from 1st Battalion, 11th Marines. 2023
