The City of Irvine is excited to celebrate community, connection, and clean air through its second annual car-free open streets event, CicloIrvine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3. Residents, visitors, and businesses are invited to stroll, bike, and roll along a1.4-mile car-free stretch of Campus Drive between University Drive and Culver Drive.
CicloIrvine highlights the City’s commitment to community engagement, sustainability, and environmentally conscious means of travel and encourages participants to experience Irvine’s public spaces and local businesses in a new and reimagined way with live music, art, and engaging activities for all.
Street closures for CicloIrvine will take place Saturday, May 3, between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. Most streets adjacent to the route will remain open, but no street parking will be allowed along the route. Those who live or work on the CicloIrvine route should expect detours. All streets surrounding the route will remain open to vehicle access during the event, and there will be designated spots along the route for traffic to cross.
Businesses along the CicloIrvine route can become a part of the event by joining as a sponsor or offering specials to visitors on the day of the event. The City of Irvine welcomes UC Irvine and UCI Health as the presenting sponsors; additional sponsorship opportunities are available online at cityofirvine.org/cicloirvinesponsors.
If you are interested in volunteering at the event, there are various roles available throughout the day. Please contact Vivian Nguyen at vinguyen@cityofirvine.org for more information.
