The City of Irvine will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony in the Formal Garden. A Commanding Officer from Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion will speak to pay tribute to our military fallen. Attendees will have the opportunity to memorialize our troops’ sacrifice by writing down a brief remembrance to be posted on a memory board at the event. Cards will also be available for well-wishers to send a message of appreciation and support to members of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. For more information, call 949-724-6606. 

 

The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Northwood Memorial Committee, will hold a special candle lighting ceremony at the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial. To honor our military fallen, we are pleased to feature guest speakers Jim and Carla Hogan, Gold Star parents of Lance Corporal Donald J. Hogan, who lost his life while serving our nation in Afghanistan. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. For more information, call 949-724-6606.

The City of Irvine Sizzlin’ Summer Concert series brings free, family-friendly music shows to Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge.

On Sunday, August 14, bring the whole family to enjoy a free outdoor concert in the park featuring the Pacific Symphony, led by Music Director Carl St. Clair! At 5:30 p.m., enjoy family-friendly activities. Pacific Symphony in the Cities concert begins at 7 p.m.

General admission is free (no tickets or pre-registration required) for first-come, first-served seating. Bring a picnic basket or purchase treats from on-site gourmet food trucks.
