The public is invited to attend as Irvine Mayor Donald P. Wagner, delivers his State of the City Address on Feb. 14 in the Council Chamber at the Irvine Civic Center. The event begins with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by the Mayor’s address at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to a community ice facility groundbreaking at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Orange County Great Park. An Anaheim Ducks affiliate and the City of Irvine will co-host the ceremony to begin construction of one of the largest public ice facilities in the U.S. The grand opening will be in 2018. A special community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, will provide an update on the nation’s largest parkland project of 688 acres including the 194-acre Sports Park; the state’s largest Community Ice Facility; and ask those who attend to provide input about still-to-be-built segments of the Orange County Great Park. The Great Park Tennis Academy provides students of all ability levels the opportunity to train in a state of the art twenty-five court tennis facility, providing access to the highest quality coaches, small student: coach ratio instructor-led match play and drills, and the latest technology. The Great Park Tennis Center is the tennis branch of a sports complex that is home to professional ice skating, hockey, soccer, and more.

The City of Irvine is updating its Senior Services Strategic Plan. Residents are invited to attend a community meeting to provide input to the update that will help shape senior programs and services over the next five years. 

This meeting will focus on the plan's priority areas of education, housing, transportation, health and recreation, social well-being and vulnerable seniors.
