The City of Irvine will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony in the Formal Garden. Attendees will have the opportunity to memorialize our troops’ sacrifice by writing down a brief remembrance to be posted on a memory board at the event. Cards will also be available for well-wishers to send a message of appreciation and support to members of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. Visit our website for more information. 

Memorial Day is a time of remembrance, when Americans honor those who have given their lives while defending our nation. On Sunday, May 29 at 4 p.m., a special Candle-lighting Ceremony will be held at the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial. The ceremony, presented in partnership with the City of Irvine and the Northwood Memorial Committee, will include presentations by Gold Star families. The Turtle Rock Nature Center is located at the base of the San Joaquin Hills in the City of Irvine, and serves as a community resource for environmental interest and concern. The five-acre nature preserve is both a home for wildlife and an outdoor classroom where visitors and program participants learn to protect our natural environment. Visitors can explore the nature center at their leisure, taking a self-guided trail walk during regular operating hours. Trails may be closed due to inclement weather.
