Open House & Dedication

The Quail Hill Community Center will officially open to the public during a dedication ceremony March 4. Please join us for self-guided tours and an exhibit of the City of Irvine 45th Anniversary Photo Contest winning submissions. The community center is located at Quail Hill Community Park, and features spaces for art, dance, fitness and educational programs.

The public is invited to attend as Irvine Mayor Donald P. Wagner, delivers his State of the City Address on Feb. 14 in the Council Chamber at the Irvine Civic Center. The event begins with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by the Mayor’s address at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to a community ice facility groundbreaking at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Orange County Great Park. An Anaheim Ducks affiliate and the City of Irvine will co-host the ceremony to begin construction of one of the largest public ice facilities in the U.S. The grand opening will be in 2018. Free event, no RSVP needed. Enter at Marine Way and follow signs.

A special community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, will provide an update on the nation’s largest parkland project of 688 acres including the 194-acre Sports Park; the state’s largest Community Ice Facility; and ask those who attend to provide input about still-to-be-built segments of the Orange County Great Park.
