Irvine Company has filed a General Plan amendment application to establish a new planning area called Oak Park (Planning Area 52). The proposed General Plan amendment would facilitate a new planning area, creating a new village with 3,100 homes, an elementary school, a community park, neighborhood parks, and associated transportation and infrastructure improvements. The project is now in its early public participation phase with public hearings anticipated to occur in 12 to 16 months.
Opening at Heritage Community Park in May 1980, this 18,000-square-foot facility provides art camps, classes, events, and open studio programs for all ages in fully equipped art studios for drawing and painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, jewelry, and culinary arts.
Contemporary and cultural exhibitions showcase local and regional artists. Programs are designed to expand community awareness, understanding and sensitivity to art, and provide leisurely viewing enjoyment.
Join us as we break ground on the City of Irvine’s very first public gymnasium, the Irvine Fieldhouse!
This exciting milestone marks the start of construction on a 110,000-square-foot indoor recreational facility that will serve as a vibrant hub for sports, tournaments, and community gatherings.

HHAP Program Round 5 (HHAP-5) is authorized by Section 17 Assembly Bill 129, which was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on June 10, 2023.
HHAP-5 intends to sustain existing investments towards long-term sustainability of housing and supportive services and prioritize permanent housing solutions, with a strong focus on regional coordination. As part of the HHAP-5 application process, applicants were required to apply together as a region and create a Regionally Coordinated Homelessness Action Plan that included:
The Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) Program provides one-time block grant funds to support regional coordination and expand or develop local capacity to address immediate homelessness challenges. HHAP funding is currently administered by the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and is allocated to three jurisdiction types for distribution: Continuums of Care, large cities and counties.
