Go behind the scenes of artist Eric Stoner's multimedia collage process and learn the wide variety of techniques and materials the artist employs in his work. Participants will be guided through the process of storytelling through collage and illustrations, and take home a composition reflecting their own personal story. Ages 18+. $59. Moving at a Snail's Pace in Geologic Time
Eric Stoner's work is on display at the Irvine Fine Arts Center as part of the exhibit, Moving at a Snail's Pace in Geologic Time. Combining original photographs and artwork, journals, woodworking elements, vintage album covers and other mixed media, the complex and allegorical collage works by the Orange County-based artist have been in the making for more than a decade. The exhibit runs June 16-Aug. 11, with an artist talk on Saturday, July 14, 3-4 p.m., and a reception on Saturday, July 14, 4-6 p.m. Exhibit, artist talk and reception, and parking are free.
