In 1943, Walt Disney designed the El Toro “Flying Bull” logo for Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. Walt Disney Productions created approximately 1,200 designs during World War II for both American and Allied military units. All of this work was a donation to the war effort.
This exhibition will detail a brief history of Disney Insignia Art and feature original artwork inspired by World War II created by contemporary artists working for Walt Disney Productions, Marvel Entertainment, and Pixar Animation Studios.
Contemporary artists include: Dave Avanzino, Patrick Ballesteros, Steven Daily, Matt Haley, Julie Lee, Nolen Lee, Craig Mackay, Jeff McMillan, Linnea Motts, John T Quinn III, Kurtis Schureman, Michele Svengsouk, Benjamin Thomas, Edwin Ushiro and Rebecca Wong.
The Great Park Gallery is located in the Palm Court Arts Complex and is open Thursdays–Fridays: noon–4 p.m. and Saturdays–Sundays: 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
