The community is invited to celebrate National Public Works Week Thursday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Great Park Hangar 244.
Meet staff in the City of Irvine's Public Works & Sustainability Department, learn about projects planned for Irvine, and get advice on pursuing a career in public works. See public works equipment up close, including dump trucks, street sweepers, tractors, traffic controls, and more.
Food and treats will be available for purchase. Visitors can also earn prizes and giveaways.
"People, Purpose, Presence" is this year’s National Public Works Week theme, which occurs May 18–24.
No RSVP is required to attend the event. Hangar 244 is located at 8000 Great Park Blvd. Guests should take Great Park Boulevard, turn right to Beacon, turn right to Bosque, and follow on-site signage to park in Parking Lot 2.
