City of Irvine Lights Clock Tower in Solidarity with Ukraine

Monday, February 28, 2022

The City of Irvine joins cities across the country in lighting City Hall in blue and yellow in solidarity with Ukraine. This simple but meaningful gesture is one way Irvine is showing support to the Ukrainian community.

The clock tower lights will be active beginning at dusk on February 28. The lights will remain blue and yellow as long as the war continues in Ukraine.

“As Mayor of Irvine, I stand with my fellow mayors across California and the Country in condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “In an act of solidarity, the City is lighting the City Hall clock tower blue and yellow, and will keep it lit as long as it takes for Ukraine to find peace and the Ukrainian community to regain their freedom. In a City that celebrates diversity and does not tolerate hate, I will do everything in my power to help end this atrocious act of violence and support the Ukrainian community in Irvine, Orange County, and beyond.”
