The community is invited to participate in a community bike ride hosted by the Orange County Cycling Business Coalition, in partnership with the City of Irvine, Friday, June 6. 

Riders of all ages can participate in the Community Bike Tour, opting for a 5-mile ride loop or a 25-mile ride along Irvine’s bikeways. The rides will start and end at the Great Park's Hangar 244. Check-in is from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Rides will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Registration is required at yourirvine.org.

The Community Bike Tour is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to expand opportunities for cycling. Irvine has an extensive bike network with 113.24 miles of off-street bike trails and 286.42 lane miles of on-street bikeways. City staff are dedicated to enhancing and expanding the trail network, with two Class IV protected bikeways added in Irvine and six additional protected bikeways planned this year.

The Community Bike Tour is free and suitable for beginning to experienced riders. Helmets are required for children 17 and under; recommended for riders 18 and older.
