From Fragmentation to Reflection — Two New Exhibitions Open March 1

Thursday, February 27, 2025

The Irvine Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce the opening of two new exhibitions, Metamorphosis: Mending the Wound and Michelle Andrade: Everything’s Fine, on view March 1–May 24. An opening reception will be held Saturday, March 1, 2–4 p.m., offering an opportunity to engage with the artists and experience the works firsthand.

Metamorphosis: Mending the Wound
Organized by Lynk Collective, Metamorphosis: Mending the Wound brings together printmaking and mixed-media works that explore themes of transformation, fragmentation, and rehabilitation. Through strategies of collaboration and assembly, the exhibition reflects on the ways art can serve as a form of mending — both literally and metaphorically. Lynk Collective is a diverse group of artists who coalesced around the Irvine Fine Arts Center’s printmaking program in 2017.

Michelle Andrade: Everything’s Fine
Los Angeles-based artist Michelle Andrade presents Michelle Andrade: Everything’s Fine, a solo exhibition exploring the contradictions of daily life through mixed-media works, drawing, and book form. Andrade’s work is imbued with humor, irony, and sensitivity, using text — both hidden within vibrant compositions and boldly displayed — to prompt deeper reflection. The exhibition examines the tension between surface optimism and underlying complexities, revealing the bittersweet truths embedded in everyday language.

Both exhibitions and the opening reception are free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday–Thursday; 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. The Irvine Fine Arts Center is located in Heritage Community Park at 14321 Yale Ave. For more information, visit irvinefinearts.org or call 949-724-6880.
