Mayor Donald P. Wagner tonight delivered his second State of the City Address at the Irvine Civic Center. Topics included traffic improvements; the Southern California State Veterans Cemetery; and continued development of the 688 acres at the Orange County Great Park.
He also spoke to the unmatched quality of life in Irvine, highlighting the City’s reputation as one of the nation’s safest communities, the City Council’s continued financial support of Irvine’s public schools, and the vibrant business community.
“All of this is to say that Irvine, for good reason, is a place where people want to live, and raise their families,” he told a capacity crowd in the Council Chamber. “But, of course, growth comes with challenges for 2018. This Council is determined to meet those challenges.”
