Visitors to the Orange County Great Park donated food items equal to more than 25,000 meals during the Park’s Spooktacular Fun Days event Oct. 14-15. The donations kicked off the City’s month-long Fall Food Drive: Scare Away Hunger with 30,252 pounds of food to charity over two days. All donations support Orange County Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank, and nonperishable food items will be accepted through Sunday, Nov.19.
Community members can support hunger relief efforts by dropping off canned goods or nonperishable food items at the Orange County Great Park Visitors Center or Sports Complex. Donations will be accepted 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The Orange County Great Park is located at 6950 Marine Way in Irvine. For more information, call 949-724-6247.
