The Irvine Police Department and City of Irvine continue to monitor the areas that were impacted by the outage. All traffic signals in the City have had power restored, though a few remained on red flash Sunday morning as power was restored.

“I am happy to hear that our Irvine residents have had power restored. I want to thank our City staff for their hard work and dedication in responding to this incident,” said Irvine Mayor Christina Shea.

The outage began Friday at 6:18 p.m. as a result of an electrical fire at a substation at Jamboree and Michelson.
