The City of Irvine is deeply saddened by the horrific acts of violence reported over the weekend, both domestically and internationally, at Brown University and at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected by these heinous murders.

As a City, we firmly condemn violence and antisemitism in all forms. Hate and fear have no place in our community, or anywhere in the world. Irvine is one of the nation’s safest, most diverse, and fully integrated cities, where people of all backgrounds and faiths live, work, learn, and gather together. Keeping Irvine safe and welcoming for everyone remains a core responsibility and shared commitment.

The safety and security of our residents is our highest priority. The Irvine Police Department (IPD) works tirelessly to protect our community and remains vigilant, with particular attention to schools, houses of worship, and other community gathering places. IPD continues to coordinate closely with regional, state, and federal partners and encourages residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.

In moments like these, we are reminded of the importance of standing together. Irvine will continue to lead with vigilance, compassion, and respect for one another, while remaining united in rejecting violence, hatred, and antisemitism.
