
Long summer evenings are back, and so is Summer in the City, Irvine’s signature series of free, family-friendly outdoor events held throughout June, July, and August. The lineup includes Movies on the Lawn, Summer Concerts, and Symphony in the Cities —each offering an opportunity for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and enjoy summer fun at the City of Irvine’s award-winning parks.
Movies on the Lawn:
Hicks Canyon Community Park | Food trucks at 6 p.m. | Movies begin after sunset
Watch family-favorite films under the stars on a giant outdoor screen. Guests are invited to bring low-back chairs, blankets, and picnic meals, or enjoy gourmet options from food trucks on-site. Movies begin after sunset and are weather permitting.

Summer Concerts:
Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge | Concerts begin at 5:30 p.m.
Enjoy live performances that bring a range of musical styles to the park, from soulful blues to classic rock and '90s throwbacks. Guests can bring their own snacks or purchase food from gourmet trucks available at each event.

Symphony in the Cities:

This community favorite features a live performance by Pacific Symphony, with pre-concert activities for all ages. Enjoy an evening of orchestral classics, pop favorites, and patriotic tunes in a relaxed outdoor setting.

All Summer in the City events are free –– no tickets or pre-registration required. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should bring low-back chairs and blankets; layered clothing is recommended.
