Irvine, Calif. (May 25, 2017) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is proud to partner once again with Special Olympics Southern California for the annual Tip-A-Cop fundraiser. On June 1 from 5 to 9 p.m., Irvine Police personnel will join Special Olympics athletes at select restaurants at the Irvine Spectrum Center to serve customers their meals. All tips raised will go directly to Special Olympics Southern California.
“Our officers and staff take great pride in working to raise funds for Special Olympics Southern California. This is a great event that supports an important cause while also allowing members of our community to meet their local police officers in a fun, relaxing environment,” said Officer Rick Gramer, who is leading the Tip-A-Cop effort this year. IPD raised nearly $10,000 for Special Olympics Southern California at last year’s event.
Participating restaurants include Javier’s, P.F. Chang’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Kabuki, Ruby’s and Wood Ranch.
Guests at the Irvine Spectrum will also have the opportunity to explore police vehicles including the Irvine Police Department’s Mobile Command Unit, a police motorcycle and more.
The Irvine Spectrum Center is located at 670 Spectrum Center Drive.
