The Irvine Fine Arts Center announces the opening of its latest exhibition, You Have No Sound, a solo show by artist Kim Kei. The opening reception will take place June 17 from 4-6 p.m. and the exhibition runs through Aug. 12.
Kei’s art in You Have No Sound connects complex processes of sculpture, photography, painting and printmaking, yielding beautifully crafted works that evoke the body without depicting the figure as a form. Admission and parking are free. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
Complementing the exhibition is an artist workshop, Monoprint with Kim Kei and Camilla Taylor, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 24. Guests will learn basic monoprint techniques and delve into the details of Kei’s unique printing process. Workshop cost is $40; ages 18+. Registration required at irvinequickreg.org.
