Irvine, Calif. (July 6, 2017) – A woman who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic collision early Saturday morning has died from her injuries.
London Thibodeaux, 19, was one of two female passengers in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra involved in a collision at Harvard Avenue and Michelson Drive on July 1. The Orange County Coroner today confirmed that she passed away Wednesday. The male driver, Kasean Herrera, 23, of Irvine, and a male passenger, Jeremy Shankling, 24, of Los Angeles, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The other female passenger sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The male driver and sole occupant of a 2015 Infiniti Q50 involved in the crash was also critically injured.
Just after 3 a.m. July 1, the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the scene of the collision. When they arrived, IPD and OCFA found the 2015 Infiniti Q50 on fire. OCFA was able to quickly extinguish the blaze. The roadway was closed for several hours as a result of the collision.
