Irvine, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2018) –The man who died Monday in a traffic collision at San Remo and Paseo Westpark in Irvine has been identified. Colin Halleland, 18, of Irvine was the driver of a motorcycle involved in the collision. Halleland was a student at Orange Coast College.
At 5:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, Irvine Police Department officers and members of the Orange County Fire Authority responded to a report of a traffic collision at the location. Halleland was found unresponsive. Despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver of a sedan involved in the collision was uninjured.
Paseo Westpark remains closed between Alton and Barranca as the Irvine Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team investigates the collision. The roadway is expected to reopen in approximately two hours.
