Irvine Police Attempting to Identify Suspect

Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is investigating a case and attempting to identify a suspect who grabbed a woman in an apartment complex parking lot.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., on May 21, 2015, a 20-year-old woman parked her vehicle in the parking lot of San Remo Villa Apartments. As the victim retrieved items from her trunk, she was approached from behind by a male suspect, who grabbed her around her mouth and pulled her backwards several feet. The victim screamed and was able to break free, and the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black or dark-colored, newer-model coupe.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident is asked to contact IPD Detective Scott Grange at 949-724-7000.
