Sand Volleyball Lessons Begin Wednesday, April 4

Youth Volleyball Lessons

The Great Park is offering introductory volleyball lessons for kids ages 6-9, beginning Wednesday, April 4.  This four-week program is a great way to introduce children to the fun and challenging sport of sand volleyball. Led by former collegiate and professional volleyball player Matt Taylor, kids can take part in drills, learn proper technique and enjoy plenty of game play just in time for the summer season. Summer volleyball camps also begin in June. To see the full schedule of classes and register, visit yourirvine.org.

The Sports Complex volleyball courts opened in August and include a championship court with seating for 178 spectators and four additional lighted sand courts. In addition to City classes, the courts are available for drop-in use daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Park visitors can bring their own volleyball or check one out from the Great Park Tennis Center free of charge.
