The County Board of Supervisors today voted to rescind a plan to place upwards to 400 homeless citizens on county land that it owns near the Great Park. The Supervisors now will work with cities and a federal judge to find permanent long-term solutions. A judge-ordered Status Conference will be held on April 3 with county officials and others to determine next steps for the homeless population. Attendance at today’s Board meeting included Irvine Mayor Donald P. Wagner and hundreds of concerned Irvine residents, dozens of whom spoke to the agenda item.
