In conjunction with the Orange County Great Park’s The Art of Competition exhibition and the countywide arts festival Imagination Celebration, the City of Irvine invites you to join us for a movie night on Friday, April 19, in celebration of the world of sports. Enjoy the Great Park Gallery's extended hours from noon to 7 p.m., and check out The Art of Competition on display. Then, enjoy a screening of D2: The Mighty Ducks on the Terraced Lawn after sunset.
The Art of Competition is an exhibition that illustrates different facets of professional sports, from the venues and stadiums to the individual teams and players themselves. The exhibition features international and award-winning artists whose clients include: Bleacher Report, EA Sports, ESPN, FIFA, Nike, Red Bull, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Starbucks, Vice Media, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and more.
In D2: The Mighty Ducks, Emilio Estevez returns as Gordon Bombay to coach his Mighty Ducks in a face-off against the tough Icelandic team that does not always play fair. This movie is rated PG, and runs 1 hour, 46 minutes. Movie begins after sunset. Items for purchase will be available from an on-site food truck. Program is free and weather permitting; no RSVP is needed and all ages are welcome.
